Definition of Partnership

Johns Hopkins University and Kelly Services, Inc. have entered into a select supplier relationship to provide temporary staffing solutions. The relationship is designed to contain costs and increase efficiencies and consistencies through the centralization of processes related to quality temporary staffing. Nancy Assero is the University's dedicated Kelly Services Partnership Staffing Manager. Nancy, Sharon Hocker, and Christina Moniodis will facilitate our temporary staffing requirements.

Quality Assurance

Kelly Services will ensure that quality service is provided to Johns Hopkins University using the following systems:

  • Quality Control Process - At the completion of each assignment, the Kelly Services staff will call the Johns Hopkins University supervisor to assess satisfaction with the assigned temporary employee’s: quality and quantity of work, punctuality/attendance, and, if needed, would the supervisor request the temporary employee for a future assignment.
  • KCSI Surveys - On a semi-annual basis, randomly selected Johns Hopkins University supervisors will receive a quality survey to complete. Results will be reviewed and action will be taken by Kelly Services staff in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University Human Resources management.

Billing

In accepting and submitting your temporary staff’s electronic time keeping, you are giving Kelly Services permission to submit billing directly to Johns Hopkins University Accounts Payable. Please check for accuracy before submitting the electronic time keeping.  A duplicate invoice will be forwarded for your records.

Partnership Manager's Roles and Responsibilities

The University's dedicated Kelly Services Partnership Staffing Manager is Nancy Assero, 410-332-4445.

  • Johns Hopkins University single point of contact for procurement and management of temporary staffing
  • Recruit, pre-screen, hire, place and monitor performance, counsel and terminate of temporary staff.
  • Provide temporary employees with an orientation to Johns Hopkins University.
  • Consistently redefine the temporary help needs for each department through routine communication.
  • Partnering with secondary suppliers to meet the temporary staffing needs of Johns Hopkins University.

Responsibilities of Johns Hopkins University Order Placers

  • Submit a completed Johns Hopkins University Temporary Request Form.
  • Provide a statement of job responsibilities, candidate qualification requirements and department expectations.
  • Escort temporary employee to your work area the first day of the assignment.
  • Provide department-specific orientation and training.
  • Immediately inform Nancy Assero, the University's Kelly Services Partnership Staffing Manager, of any performance concerns.
  • Immediately inform Nancy Assero, 410-332-4445, of any injury, accident or near miss accident involving temporary staff while on assignment.

Temporary Program Do's and Don'ts

  • Do contact the Kelly Services staff to terminate a temporary staff’s assignment prior to the assignment’s scheduled completion date.
  • Do contact Kelly Services when personal matters arise with temporary staff.
  • Do communicate Kelly’s temporary staff performance to the Kelly Services staff. As their employer, Kelly Services will provide performance feedback.
  • Do not discuss temporary pay rates with temporary staff; Kelly Services is their employer and questions regarding pay rates must be forwarded to the Kelly Services staff.
  • Do not discuss Johns Hopkins University full-time positions - unless the temporary employee can be considered as an "applicant" for the opening.
