University Surplus Property Program

University Surplus Property Program

Purchasing Services maintains a master list of equipment and furniture no longer needed by departments and determined to be appropriate for resale.  Two services are provided for the exchange or resale of items, the Department-to-Department Item Listings and the Online Auction.  Each service offers a specific option for selling or disposing of surplus property.

The University is also authorized to purchase items from the Maryland State Surplus Property Program.

Provided Services

The Supply Chain Surplus Property Program Department-to-Department Item Listings provides a forum where items to be sold, bought or exchanged between University-only departments are listed.

The Supply Chain Surplus Property Program Online Auction is designed to facilitate the selling of University surplus property through an Internet online auction.  The Online Auction offers the chance for the largest possible audience to bid on the surplus property. To view online auction items, please, select the Surplus Property Program's Online Auction Current Listings page.

Due to lack of storage space, all surplus equipment and furniture must remain in the originating department until sold or disposed.

All inquiries regarding the Surplus Property Program should be addressed to Chris Harris, who may be reached at surplus@jhu.edu.

 Maryland State Surplus Property Program

The University is authorized to purchase items from the Maryland State Surplus Property Program. Identification Cards are needed to buy surplus items from the State surplus warehouse. All purchases must be made in person, by the person whose name is on the Identification Card.
